A/2 Apartment

The apartment is situated on the third floor of a four-story block of flats in a quiet suburban area of Attica and was renovated for a family of four.
The aim was to create a unique minimal interior with a clean, modern and sophisticated look while at the same time provide plenty of storage space to avoid stuff clustering around the apartment.
Plan layout has been rearranged with plenty of closet additions and includes an open plan kitchen-living-dining room, the master bedroom with ensuite bathroom, two kids’ bedroom and an extra WC with shower.
A neutral color palette of white, grey and beige has been assigned to the apartment along with black-detail elements. The dominant color is white, adding brightness to the whole and together with the wooden desaturated floor provides a calm and earthly effect.
Fluted white and beige surfaces portray elegance and obstruct whiteness by creating embossed areas of shade. Linear black slots add contrast to the overall whiteness and together with strategically placed white striated vertical radiators ensure indoor climate comfort while boosting design interest on the walls.
The open-plan kitchen and living room have been divided into two visually distinct spaces, utilizing the soothing color palette of white and beige. This division achieves a harmonious ambient transition between the two spaces while designating their boundaries.
A ceramic kitchen-island feature enhances this separation while serving as a functional and visually striking element. Surrounding the island, sleek white lacquered cabinets provide ample storage space and maintain a clean and uncluttered appearance.
Moving into the living room area, a transition takes place with the introduction of the beige color palette on the walls and ceiling. The main feature of the living room is a black lava fireplace which looks as if it moved by sliding on the wall leaving its print.
The bathrooms design is focused in functionality and visual comfort. Large frameless mirrors are strategically placed above the vanities creating a sense of spaciousness. Grey cement-like tiles form sinks and create a bold, monolithic design statement. The oversized nature of the tiles adds a sense of grandeur and creates a seamless visual flow throughout the space while allowing easy maintenance and durability. Accents of warmth have been achieved through the use of wooden cabinets that provide the required bathroom storage space. Additional touches, such as hidden lights and minimalist accessories, add to the overall calm look of the bathrooms.
Artificial lighting has been carefully designed to enhance the apartment’s interior character. Hidden lights along with slim linear recessed lighting fixtures illuminate the space with a warm, inviting glow, highlighting the linear geometry of the design. Together with simplicity in volumes, carefully selected fixtures and thoughtful accents the overall interior achieves a modern, inviting, and cohesive look.
