Maisonette G

The interior design study for this 120m² maisonette was carried out in order to refresh the living style experience and reorganize the schedule of accommodation for a family of four.
The main idea was to deliver a variety of senses through multiple use of materials, finishes and colors while at the same time fulfill each user needs.
A combination of white, black and wooden surfaces complemented with homy decoration and carefully implemented lighting fixtures provides a warm and cozy atmosphere for the main living area of the house were all family gathers. The mother’s love for music led to the creation of a distinct room for practicing were the piano and the cello are the dominant features. A screen wall made of white metal slats attached to the piano, creates a discreet filter between the music room and the master bedroom while colorful furniture elements contribute to a playful feeling. Translucent glass panels on a black metal frame separate the shower from the bed and the absence of doors allows for fluent movement to the bathroom and the wardrobe.
The wooden deck floor of the veranda and the surrounding built seating with plants and pillows contribute to an inviting effect for relaxation while enjoying unobstructed panoramic views to the sea. The redesign of the barbeque area, where the wooden deck continues, creates a functional space with a modern look and the pergola that completes the whole structure along with the perimetric sliding glass windows allows for all weather gatherings with unobstructed views to the surroundings.
The intention when designing the girl’s room was to achieve a combination of sophisticated and creative interior result while the boy’s adventurous mood is revealed by the integrated climbing wall in his room. The encouragement to playfulness is portrayed in the children’s balcony were colorful pouf with soft wooden deck and plants interact with each other.
